Road Sign Inventories
WRC GIS staff can perform a road sign inventory for your town. We map the location of each road sign post, and record the sign type, text on the sign, condition, reflectiveness, and whether or not it is on a break-away post. We also record the size of stop signs, and the text size on road name signs. Final products include a a large map (3 feet by 4 feet), a large-scale sign atlas, and a spreadsheet of information about all signs in town.
A sign inventory can be useful for many purposes, including creating a sign replacement schedule for capital improvement planning, or documenting sign locations at a specific point in time in advance of accidents or vandalism.
